National Nutty Fudge Day May 12 2012

From Foodimentarian today is Nutty Fudge Day.
You need to check out this site with all of the great food facts and food anniversary dates.

One of my favorite websites Taste of Home has 4 varied recipes for nutty fudge:
You will find regular, chocolate, white fudge, and nutty fudge torte at the link below.  They look yummy.

Microwave fudge, oh no!  Not for the purists but here is one!!
Easy dark chocolate nutty fudge microwave recipe:

3 cups dark chocolate chips
1 (14 oz) can sweetened low fat condensed sweetened milk
1/4 cup butter or GOOD low fat margarine like Land of Lakes
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

How to:
·         Combine all ingredients except nuts in large microwaveable bowl. Microwave on medium until chips are melted, about 2-5 minutes, stirring once or twice during melting. Stir in nuts, if desired.
·         Pour into 8×8-inch pan that you have lined with foil and coated with cooking spray.
·         Refrigerate until set.
·         Cut into squares.
·         Mangiare.

There's a good one with marshmallow cream on recipe.com

Don't want to make it!  Want to buy it!

Pairings for fudge:  Port wine or a good cup of gourmet coffee.
