Farinata, socca, torta di ceci, or cecina is a type of thin, unleavened pancake, flatbread or crêpe made from chickpea flour. LINK to Spanish and Portuguese Foods
Spain and Portugal because of location both enjoy lots of seafood.
They both loved cured meats which were created to keep in cold weather.
Foods originate from "peasant" food.
A noticeable difference between Portuguese and Spanish cooking is the spices they use. Portuguese cuisine tends to use a lot of cinnamon, bay leaves and piri piri, which are small hot chili peppers often sold as bottled hot sauce. In Spain, the most commonly used spices include Spanish paprika, saffron, parsley. Although their main spices are different, they can also share spices like granulated garlic and black pepper.
Portuguese cuisine is a unique mix of Mediterranean, African, and Brazilian flavors.
First, Spanish food is heavily influenced by Moorish and Mediterranean flavors. This means that you’ll find lots of seafood, olives, and spices in typical Spanish dishes.
Portuguese food is often saltier and spicier than Spanish food, with dishes like chorizo and jalapeños being common.
On the other hand, Spanish food is usually more acidic and has a stronger flavor profile.
