BASIC CHINESE FIVE SPICE
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
1 teaspoon ground cloves.
1 teaspoon fennel seed, toasted and ground.
1 teaspoon ground star anise.
1 teaspoon szechuan peppercorns, toasted and ground.
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Kaffir lime leaves (don't substitute; just leave out); you can buy kaffir lime leaves, powder, dried and flakes)
- Lemongrass
- Lime
- Mint
- Red pepper flakes
- Turmeric
